Awards Logic from Ron Swanson

7:07 PM

On a very basic level, I'm somewhat of a superficial admirer of film. That being said, I'm not going to pretend that I don't love awards shows. I'll admit in fact, that I adore them, be it the Emmys, the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Junos, the VMAs, even the People's Choice Awards. I'll watch any and all awards shows just to catch a glimpse of my favourite celebrities and to enjoy the glamour and spectacle. However, while I'm a fan of watching the Awards shows, I'm never happy with the final results. More often than not, my hopes for a win for my favourite films and performances are destroyed (with the one notable exception being Christoph Waltz's win at the 2010 Academy Awards for Inglourious Basterds). So, during this awards season, I tend to side with one of the wisest minds on Television today, Ron Swanson.

For that reason, I'm not extremely interested in making a long-winded post about how the Golden Globes wins unfolded last night. However, be assured that when the Academy Awards come around on February 24th, I'll have many things to say. Until then, enjoy my non-awards related posts.
