A Series of Unfortunate Events: Golden Globes Edition

JLaw with her Golden Globe for Best Actress - Drama,
and wearing what could only be a duvet wrapped in electrical tape.

If you live within a 5-mile radius of my house, I apologize for my outburst within the first 10 minutes of the 2014 Golden Globes Sunday night when Jennifer Lawrence won Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle (2013) over Lupita Nyong'o for 12 Years a Slave (2013). That piercing scream of "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK NOOOOOOOO" was involuntary and I'm very sorry for disrupting your evening. What a way to start the awards season though, with such a disgusting snub. Overall, the night was mostly lows with very few highs, such as Spike Jonze's win for Best Original Screenplay for Her (2013) and 12 Years a Slave for Best Motion Picture - Drama, and even though I was rooting for Joaquin Phoenix to win Best Actor for Her, I can't help but be happy that Leonardo won for Wolf of Wall Street (2013). Maybe he'll finally get the Oscar this year! Non-awards related highlights include drunk Emma Thompson, the ever beautiful Liam Neeson and of course the most perfect duo ever, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler presenting. How awesome is it that this year, both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards are hosted by amazing women in comedy (Ellen Degeneres is hosting the Oscars in February)? But let's not get too happy over here, because on a whole, the Golden Globes was a shit show awards-wise. It was Dances With Wolves winning best picture over Goodfellas, bad. I'll save my angry energy for the Academy Awards though, I'm sure I'll need it. In the mean time, enjoy my semi-drunk tweets about all the attractive people at the Golden Globes, and the occasional comment on the actual awards...
