Day 1: Sundance Film Festival

12:18 AM

Saturday, January 24th

Sitting in Toronto Pearson Airport waiting for my connecting flight to Denver. So far, I've been up for 4 and a half hours, which is already a whole hour longer than I actually managed to sleep for last night. Woo. Clearly my abstaining for anything caffeinated yesterday in preparation for an early start today didn't do any good. In fact, I think the massive headache I had on the Kingston to Toronto flight was less of a cabin pressure issue and more of a coffee withdrawal issue. I sorted it out though. Praise Starbucks. ☕

Made it to Denver. There's a lot of leather and cowboy hats? I'm under the sneaking suspicion that Denver is American's Calgary. I bumped into a lady in the airport and said "soory". Foreigner status was identified almost immediately. You can take the girl out of Canada but you can't take the Canada out of the girl. I watched Mildred Pierce (1945) on the plane and am contemplating starting a Joan Crawford obsession.

Made it to Park City. Chilling with my awesome Utah family before seeing my first film of Sundance 2015, 3 and 1/2 Minutes

Dragging myself home and trying to muster the energy to write out a coherent review of 3 and 1/2 Minutes before I get a concussion from falling asleep at the kitchen counter top. In short, the documentary was incredible. Just heart-breaking. I'll hopefully finish up a review for it sometime late tonight or tomorrow, but for now, enjoy various tweets and instas from my (mostly in transit) adventures today.
